發證機關出具、證明「跟原始紀錄一模一樣」的正式副本，上面通常有官方的章。Marriage Certificate 的 certified copy 通常向登記的 county 或州的 vital records 辦公室申請，跟自己影印的 photocopy 是兩種東西。
Common mistake常見的誤會
Copy 聽起來像影印，certified copy 卻不是自己印的。它是發證機關發的、有官方章的副本。對方指定要 certified copy 時，影印本通常不算。
